Renting should not cost more than the thing is worth. Big platforms got into the habit of taking a quarter of the deal – and keep growing. We think there should be an alternative: cheaper, more transparent, closer to people.
How it started
RentMe grew out of a local car-rental project in the Baltics. When the number of hosts crossed a hundred, it became clear: the "marketplace without escrow" model works – people sort out the details directly, we only help with discovery, disputes and the online fee.
What we do differently
Only the renter pays, only a service fee. The host gets their price without deductions.
No limit on listings, no premium plans, no paid promotion.
How much goes to the host, how much to us, every fee – all visible before payment. No checkout surprises.
We do not sell "featured" placement. Search ranks only by relevance and rating.
Where we are
Launched in the Baltics, actively expanding through Eastern Europe. By year-end we plan 120+ cities on 6 continents – focusing on places where local users are tired of big-marketplace overhead and inflated commissions.
Team
A small distributed team – product, design, engineering, support. Based in Tallinn, EET time zone. No open vacancies right now, but if you have marketplace experience – write to info@rentme.rent.
Funding
RentMe is bootstrapped (founders' own money). No external investors, no "grow at any cost" pressure. That is what lets us keep the commission low and avoid aggressive dark patterns for revenue.
Ideas, questions, partnerships?
We are open to a conversation. Especially if you are a local community platform, an event organiser, a municipality – or just someone who sees how to make things better.
