Public offer

Last updated:

This document is the public offer of the RentMe platform operator to conclude a contract for rental booking services. By booking an item on RentMe and paying the booking prepayment you accept the terms below in full.

1. Operator and parties

The RentMe platform operator (“RentMe”, “we”): FANARI OÜ, registry code [code], address [address], e-mail info@rentme.rent. Website: rentme.rent and the RentMe mobile apps.

“Host” – a user who has listed an item (transport, accommodation, things) for rent. “Renter” – a user who books an item. The rental contract is concluded directly between the Host and the Renter; RentMe is a party only to this platform services contract.

2. Subject

RentMe gives the Renter access to the platform: searching listings, placing and confirming a booking, collecting the booking prepayment, messaging with the Host and help in resolving disputes.

3. Acceptance

The offer is accepted the moment the Renter taps “Pay” in the booking form and pays the booking prepayment. From that moment the platform services contract between RentMe and the Renter is concluded.

4. Price and payment

  • The rental price is the price stated in the listing for the selected dates (including weekend prices where the Host has set them). It is shown in full before payment.
  • The booking prepayment is the part of the rental price, 10–12%, which the Renter pays through the platform when booking. The exact prepayment amount is shown in the booking form before tapping “Pay”.
  • The remaining part of the rental price and the deposit (if stated in the listing) are paid by the Renter directly to the Host at handover – cash or transfer. RentMe does not collect or hold these amounts.
  • Prepayment methods: bank link (Estonian and Baltic banks) and payment card. The payment is processed by a licensed payment provider; RentMe does not store card data.

5. Confirmation of the booking

After the prepayment the booking has the status “awaiting confirmation”. The Host must confirm or decline it within 48 hours. If the Host does not confirm within this time or declines, the booking is cancelled automatically and the prepayment is refunded to the Renter in full by the same method it was paid.

6. Cancellation and refund of the prepayment

  • Cancellation by the Host or no confirmation in time – the prepayment is refunded in full.
  • Cancellation by the Renter – per the cancellation policy of the specific listing (flexible, moderate, strict or non-refundable) and the cut-off stated in it in hours before the rental starts. The policy is shown to the Renter before payment. Cancelling before the cut-off refunds the prepayment in full; after it – to the extent provided by the listing policy.
  • Refunds are made to the same payment instrument within 14 days of the cancellation. Crediting times depend on the Renter’s bank.

7. Obligations of the Renter

  • Provide accurate data, be over 18 and be entitled to conclude a rental contract (for transport – a valid driving licence of the relevant category).
  • Use the item for its purpose, follow the listing rules (mileage, fuel, smoking, pets etc.) and return the item on time and in proper condition.
  • Settle the rental only through the platform and directly with the Host as described in section 4; not bypass the platform for a deal on a RentMe listing.

8. Obligations of the Host

  • Hand over to the Renter exactly the item and on the terms stated in the listing, at the agreed time.
  • Issue a confirmation of payment of the remaining rental price and deposit (receipt or written confirmation) and return the deposit when the item is returned undamaged.
  • Be responsible for the technical condition, safety and legal status of the item, and for the required insurance and permits.

9. Role and liability of RentMe

RentMe is not a party to the rental contract, does not own the items and is not liable for their quality, safety or conformity with the description – that is the Host’s responsibility. RentMe helps the parties resolve disputes out of court: on request an administrator joins the booking chat (the @admin command).

RentMe’s liability to the Renter per booking is limited to the prepayment paid for that booking. This limitation does not affect consumer rights that cannot be limited by law.

10. Disputes

This contract is governed by the law of the Republic of Estonia. Disputes are resolved by negotiation and, failing agreement, in Harju County Court (Harju Maakohus). EU consumers keep the right to bring a claim in the courts of their place of residence and to consumer protection bodies, including the European Commission ODR platform.

11. Term and changes

The offer is valid indefinitely until withdrawn or changed. Changes are published on this page and apply to new bookings from the moment of publication; bookings already paid are governed by the version in force at the moment of acceptance. The date of the last update is at the top of the page.
